The Smith and Wesson Shield Plus Performance Center MSRP's for $653 according to the Smith and Wesson website.
Here are some links to purchase WELL below MSRP. I have listed the two PC models, and the standard Plus model. The Gun in review today is the 3.1" PC Model that is ported.

Quality Impressions -
I was actually out of town on a family vacation and visited a gun store. Sitting in the shelf was a brand new Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus Performance Center Edition (That's a mouthful).
Due to the popularity, I decided to pick it up with intentions of Carrying this as an EDC, and of course to review it extensively.
Fast forward several months... it is still my preferred EDC and has performed FLAWLESSLY. I do have one complaint, and that is in reference to one of the pins that sit under the takedown lever. For some reason this pin was slightly popped out which kept the takedown lever from rotating completely. I hammered it back in... we're good.

Comfort and Ergonomic Impressions -
This gun is COMFY! Now we need to remember, this is a micro-compact pistol. It is a very small pistol that packs a full-powered round. The grip with extended 13-round magazine fits perfectly in my hand, including my pinky. The Grip with the 10-round extension actually fits pretty well, but about half of my pinky is hanging off. Overall the grip angle, sights, and control placement seem to be a great fit.
Performance
After owning this firearm for several months and carrying it DAILY, I think I have a good idea of the overall performance. If I had to guess, I think I have maybe fire around 1,000+ rounds through the firearm with one failure to feed. Granted for review sakes, this gun has not been cleaned or oiled since purchase. If I can summarize everything into two words, I would say, "FLAT SHOOTER". The recoil impulse on this gun is almost non-existent. Im sure the three factors for this is the barrel porting, Grip Angle, and recoil spring system. (duh). This firearm is extremely accurate, at least more accurate than I am.
The Negatives...
Only two negatives can come to mind, and that is the Pin below the takedown lever and slide safety. The Pin was sticking out just enough to keep the takedown lever from actuating. And unfortunately my attempt to tap it back in with the wrong tools left me with some marring and frustration.
The Slide safety is just something that gets in the way, and really is something that I don't and will never use. In fact if for some reason the safety becomes engaged, it can lead to confusion and delay when time really matters (self defense situation). There might be a kit to remove this, but right now it's just something I don't use. But really, that is all that comes to mind.
Overall Experience and Satisfaction
Definitely Satisfied! The S&W Shield Plus Performance Center is definitely one of the best micro-compact 9mm handguns I have fired. The capacity blows the previous shield models away. As of this review, this is the gun tucked inside my waistband as we speak. It has proven itself to be reliable, accurate, and kinda sexy. The Fiber Optic sights and porting give it some pizzazz.
